Reservations & Visiting
Do I need to book a table in advance?We highly recommend booking a table in advance, especially on weekends, during holidays, for evening dining, and definitely during lunchtime (when we serve our daily specials). You can easily reserve your table through our online booking system or by calling us at +372 5399 9695
How long does a table reservation last?
A standard table reservation lasts for 2 hours, allowing you to enjoy your food and drinks uninterrupted. If you wish to stay with us longer, please simply let us know when making your booking!
Can the cafe be reserved for private events (birthdays, corporate parties)?
Yes! Our cozy, century-old former pharmacy building is an ideal venue for celebrations. You can book the entire house or choose from our various private rooms. koduKOHVIK offers versatile spaces for festive occasions and business meetings alike.
On our second floor, three cozy and private rooms await you:
The Main Hall: Accommodates 20–25 guests. Equipped with a screen and projector, making it perfect for seminars, training sessions, or festive dinners.
Two Smaller Rooms: Each room comfortably seats up to 10 guests, ideal for private meetings or intimate family gatherings.
During the summer season, our options expand even further:
The Granary (Ait): Our historic and atmospheric granary space accommodates 30–35 guests. It is a unique venue for summer parties and memorable events.
Summer Terrace: Our lush, private courtyard terrace accommodates up to 45 guests, offering a wonderful atmosphere for sunny gatherings.

Menu & Dietary Preferences
Until what time do you serve breakfast, and when do lunch specials start?Come and start your day peacefully: we serve breakfast Mon–Fri 09:00–11:45, Sat 10:00–11:45, and Sun 10:00–13:00. Our daily lunch specials are served on weekdays (Mon–Fri) starting from 12:00 until sold out. The à la carte menu is also available starting at 12:00 (except on Mondays).
Do you offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or lactose-free dishes?
We want all our guests to feel great. Therefore, we have carefully considered various dietary preferences in our menu:
Plant-Based & Vegan: We always offer at least one vegan option on both our breakfast and à la carte menus, alongside a variety of vegetarian dishes. For daily lunch specials, please ask your server for details.
Gluten- & Lactose-Free: You will find gluten-free options on our menu, and our house-baked focaccia is lactose-free. Please note that our other bakery products do contain lactose and gluten.
Cake Counter: Our dessert selection always features something suitable—we offer vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free cakes.
In case of severe allergies or specific concerns, please feel free to talk to our staff. We are happy to discuss your needs and do our best to find a suitable solution together.
Location, Parking & Accessibility
Where is koduKOHVIK located, and what are the parking options?We are located in the heart of Viljandi at Tartu tn 1. As we are situated in the city center, we do not have a private courtyard parking lot. However, the nearest convenient parking spaces are right on Tartu and Lossi streets. Please follow the Viljandi city parking regulations.
Is koduKOHVIK pet-friendly? Can I bring my dog?
Yes, koduKOHVIK is pet-friendly! Well-behaved four-legged friends who do not disturb other guests are very welcome. We are also more than happy to provide them with a bowl of fresh water.
Is the cafe accessible with a stroller or wheelchair?
Because we are located in a historic building, there are 2 steps at the main entrance. Accessing the summer terrace also requires crossing 1 step. However, our caring staff is always ready to assist you. If you are visiting with a wheelchair or a larger stroller, we recommend letting us know in your reservation so we can arrange the most accessible table for you. Please note that unfortunately, our cafe does not have a dedicated wheelchair-accessible restroom.

Fresh cakes and pastries from our pastry chefs await you every day. Tip: If you don't want to miss out on our amazing house-baked bread, we highly recommend pre-ordering it.
Can I order a whole cake or torte for a private party?
Yes, we gladly bake cakes and tortes to order (such as our popular Mango-Passion torte or Lemon Meringue pie). We recommend placing your order at least a couple of days in advance. You can browse our selection on the order page. We also take custom orders—bring us your idea, and we will make it a reality!
Can I order a "Kringel" (traditional braided pastry) to go?
Handmade kringels straight from the oven! What could be better than a freshly baked and fragrant Estonian kringel? At koduKOHVIK, we bake them exclusively to order to guarantee maximum freshness and softness just for your event.
Savory Options (18 €/kg): Richly filled smoked chicken & spring onion, or classic cheese.
Sweet Options: The trendy Biscoff-raspberry (18 €/kg), traditional cinnamon or cardamom (18 €/kg), and a truly decadent hazelnut-chocolate (20 €/kg).
The minimum order is 1 kg. To ensure we can prepare the dough and plan the baking perfectly, please place your order at least 48 hours in advance.
